Meeting minutes without an external service: local transcription

One meeting recording turns into a summary, the minutes, a report and a task list — on your computer and verified against the recording.

Short answer: The local meeting scribe forms four documents from a single recording: a summary, the minutes, a report on the user's request and the task list, plus a transcript with the speakers' timeline. Transcription, analysis and export run on your hardware, and every report is verified against the source recording.

Four documents from one source

  • The summary — a condensed account of the key results for the manager.
  • The minutes — the participants, the agenda, the course of the discussion, the decisions and the assignments.
  • The report on request — only the financial decisions or only the technical questions: the composition tailored to your task.
  • The task list — all the assignments gathered from the previous stages: not a single one is lost.

Why local

A cloud transcriber sees your recording: the file leaves the perimeter, is copied into the provider's storages and becomes accessible to its contractors. The local mode is on by default: receiving the file, transcription, analysis and export run on your hardware; external services are connected only by explicit instruction and with your keys.

Reliability

Every report is automatically verified against the source recording, and uncertainly recognized fragments are marked for checking. The participants, the wording of the decisions, the deadlines and the owners are confirmed by the person responsible for the meeting: the scribe prepares the document, the decision stays with the human.

Questions and answers

Is the internet required?

For the core functions — no: the local mode is the primary one, external services only by explicit instruction.

Who sees the content of the meetings?

In a configuration without external integrations, the recording, transcripts, and reports remain inside the approved perimeter; access depends on the configured roles.

How is this different from a cloud transcriber?

A cloud transcriber processes the recording on the provider's infrastructure. In a fully local configuration, the meeting scribe returns four verified documents and the recording remains on the customer's computer.

Which documents does the scribe produce?

A transcript, a short summary, the minutes with the decisions, the tasks and the owners, and a list of open questions.

What is needed for local operation?

Windows 10/11, 16 GB of memory and an NVIDIA GPU with 6 GB or more; the requirements are clarified before launch.

Where is the result saved?

The materials are saved locally, including the integration with Obsidian.

How accurate is the transcription?

The quality depends on the recording, the speech, the terminology and the number of participants; uncertainly recognized fragments are marked for checking.

Who confirms the decisions in the minutes?

The person responsible for the meeting: the participants, the decisions and the wording of the tasks require a human check.

Which recording formats are accepted?

Audio and video of the meeting; the supported formats are clarified during the connection.

Is the scribe suitable for interviews?

Yes: interviews and working sessions are on the list of typical scenarios.
